Facilities Available at The University of Findlay

The focal point of Findlay’s main campus is Old Main. Constructed in 1883-1886, it is the University’s oldest building. Old Main houses classrooms, laboratories, faculty and staff offices, the Office of the President, the Oiler Success Center, the Business Office, the Office of Financial Aid, Office of Student Affairs, Office of Academic Affairs, the Mail Room, the Print Shop, Registrar, Human Resources/Student Employment Office, Center for Career & Professional Development, and Ritz Auditorium.

The All Hazards Training Center consists of two facilities. A five-acre site on State Route 12, east of Findlay, is equipped to create realistic scenarios involving various environmental and hazardous materials accidents. Additional training simulations are done in Renninger Gymnasium on campus.

Alumni Memorial Union contains the WLFC radio station, Atrium, Office of Student Activities, the Student Government Association and the Student Activities Board, conference rooms, lounge, multipurpose room, and coffee bar.

The Anatomy, Neuroscience, and Health Sciences Building, contains a laboratory, a classroom, and additional student spaces.

The Russ and Peg Armstrong Sports Complex is a 20-acre site that houses the Oilers men’s and women’s tennis teams as well as the women’s lacrosse squad. The area also hosts practice fields for lacrosse, football, soccer, and track and also has six tennis courts.

The Beall Oilers Golf Center is a training facility that is used by the Findlay men's and women's golf programs and houses The Brant Rhoad and Family Short Game Area. At nearly 4,000 square feet, it provides players with unprecedented access to the tools necessary to work on their game, even during times of inclement weather.

The Edward and Joyce Brewer Center for Health Sciences contains the W. Robert and Marilyn Y. Brewer Lecture Hall, classrooms, laboratories, and additional student spaces.

The William B. Brewer Science Hall houses the Newhard Planetarium, the Jean Weekly and Charles Jesse Martin Lecture Hall, classrooms, laboratories, and faculty and staff offices.

The Bucher Center Counseling Services offers free professional counseling for most personal, social, or emotional issues including but not limited to: homesickness, relationships, anxiety, depression, family issues, eating concerns, substance use, anger, trauma, and self-esteem.

The Buford Center for Diversity and Service serves as a voice and an advocate for students of color and other underrepresented populations, be a resource to University community members who are seeking assistance in cultural awareness/understanding, and actively collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators in an effort to recruit and retain students of color. It houses the Service & Community Engagement Office and staff offices.

The Center for Equine and Pre-Veterinary Studies is housed eight miles south of the main campus at the Animal Sciences Center on State Route 68. The Dr. C. Richard Beckett Animal Science Building incorporates a functioning barn, academic space, the Peck-Kerns Academic Wing that features classrooms, faculty and staff offices, a student lounge, and other facilities. The 152-acre farm also includes two indoor arenas and room to stable more than 330 horses and other livestock.

The Center for Health Professions in partnership with Blanchard Valley Health System houses classrooms, laboratories, conference rooms, additional student spaces, and faculty and staff offices.

The Center for Student Life and College of Business Building houses classrooms, laboratories, lecture halls, conference rooms, additional student spaces, College of Business, the Refinery, the Ruscilli Family Bookstore, the Writing Center, and faculty and staff offices.

The Dr. Frank R. and Mary Jane Cosiano Health Center is a free clinic for students, faculty, and staff. Any student, regardless of insurance status, may use its services. The Health Center can provide general health assessments, numerous diagnostic tests, wound care, first aid, physicals as well as referrals to specialists in the area.

Croy Physical Education Center features the Ron Niekamp Arena and James and Mira Houdeshell Court, the Victor H. and Hazel Bennett Sink Natatorium, and faculty and staff offices.

The Davis Street Building is the home of the College of Education, College of Pharmacy, College of Sciences, classrooms, laboratories, lecture halls, student areas, and faculty and staff offices.

The Diagnostic Service Building houses laboratories, classrooms, student areas, and faculty and staff offices.

The Frost Conservatory is managed by the University’s Biology Program and contains plants ranging from coleus to delphinium.

The Kenneth L. Frost Science Center houses the Robert Malcolm Lecture Hall, laboratories, classrooms, and faculty and staff offices.

The Egner Center for the Performing Arts houses the John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre, the University’s active performing arts programs that include marching and concert band, theatre, the campus UFTV station, other rehearsal spaces, and faculty and staff offices.

The Virginia B. Gardner Fine Arts Pavilion houses studios, the atrium (which has a waterfall as its backdrop), the William and Martha Lape Great Hall, the Pfeiffer Lecture Hall, the Dudley and Mary Marks Lea Gallery, the Miller Gallery, the Dana Younger Gallery, the Wilson Gallery, the Miles Gallery, the Matthew Reinhardt Gallery, the Laiho Gallery, the Catherine Freed Galleria, the Malcolm Family Dining Hall, the Mazza Museum, the Mazza Gift Gallery, the STEAM Educational Center, and the Mazza Conference Room.

The Phil Gardner Fitness Center houses the University's football program and includes offices, meeting room, and classroom space. The facility also includes student lounge space for team members.

The James L. Child Jr. Equestrian Complex, devoted to training in English riding, is located in the southeast section of Findlay at the intersection of County Road 227 and Olive Street. Two indoor arenas and facilities for more than 130 horses are included in the 42-acre property.

The Ralph and Gladys Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex is comprised of the Robert A. Malcolm Athletic Center containing a six-lane, NCAA-regulation track and four basketball/volleyball/tennis courts, Derrick’s Hangout, and the Student Recreation Center which is home to a basketball court, running track, climbing wall, varsity weight room, racquetball court, and pool tables. The complex houses offices for the coaching staff and locker facilities.

Morey Hall contains resident rooms with each floor having a lobby, bathroom, and free laundry facilities. The Department of Occupational Therapy offices are located on the first floor of this building.

The Occupational Therapy Adaptive Living House is a hands-on learning environment for Occupational Therapy students. Students will gain knowledge and skills for every individual through adapting the home environment and using devices to assist everyday lifestyles.

The Physical Therapy Annex houses student areas, meeting areas, and faculty and staff offices.

The Physical Therapy Student Resource Building is a hands-on learning experience for Physical Therapy students. Students will gain knowledge and skills relevant to Physical Therapy.

The Rieck Center for Habitat Studies is approximately 54-acres of diverse habitat that offers over two miles of hiking trails, 34 miles of forest, grasslands and prairies, wetlands, a two-acre pond, bird viewing room, classrooms, meeting rooms, a patio, a hummingbird garden, and frog pond.

Shafer Library provides access to the digital and physical materials to support the learning, teaching, and research at UF and Winebrenner Theological Seminary, and houses the University’s archives and the Center for Teaching and Learning.

The Village contains student housing, classrooms, laboratories, additional student spaces, and faculty and staff offices.

The Winebrenner Theological Seminary houses classrooms, a lecture hall, an auditorium, meeting space and the Office of Enrollment Management, Office of Admissions, Office of University Advancement, Winebrenner Theological Seminary (WTS), and faculty and staff offices.

The 315 Foulke Studio houses the sculpture studio for the art program and the Theatre Shop used for set construction. The second floor is used for storing the University’s theatre program’s costume collection.

Other buildings include, but are not limited to; eight residence halls; 19 townhouse apartment units; the Glenn and Helen Stout Alumni Center; various houses with faculty offices; several International Welcome Houses; 21 cottages; eight special-interest houses; and 10 group houses round out student housing options.
