BLMC 160 Deaf Culture in the United States

This course introduces students to basic elements of deaf culture in the United States including the history and challenges of the deaf in our society. Students will examine individuals and collective group behaviors of the deaf, educational challenges, and societal struggles within the deaf culture. This course will help students acquire a knowledge base that will assist them with interactions between deaf and hearing individuals.
