K-12 Reading Endorsement
Endorsement Requirements
The K-12 reading endorsement includes:
| EDUC 219 | Phonics and Foundations of Literacy | 3 |
| EDUC 325 | Emergent Literacy: Learning to Read | 3 |
| EDUC 326 | Literacy with Special Needs Population | 3 |
| EDUC 415 | Content Reading: Reading to Learn | 3 |
| EDUC 423 | Assessment and Diagnosis of Reading Difficulties | 3 |
| EDUC 425 | Research in Reading | 3 |
In addition, the K-12 reading endorsement requires students to have three-years teaching experience along with EDFI 650 and EDFI 655, during which they must do 100 hours of field experience with licensed reading teachers across three grade bands K-12 (primary, intermediate, junior high/high school).
