PHTH 669 Therapeutic Interventions
This lecture/lab course covers pain science and education, physical agents and therapeutic modalities for the management of patients with the following impairments: pain, range of motion, spasticity, paresis/paralysis, strength, endurance, motor control, edema and skin integrity. It includes theoretical concepts, physiologic effects, indications and contraindications, justification for selection and evidence-based clinical reasoning for each topic. There will be supervised laboratory practice to ensure the student learns the safe and efficient application, modification and progression for each intervention.
