HIST 684 Contemporary Issues in Historical Perspective

This course will examine contemporary issues in global society and put them into historical context. The framework of the course will be based on the concept that globalization began in the 16th Century. Students will discover in this course as well that the roots of many contemporary problems (and opportunities) in global society have to be understood first and foremost in historical terms. This is a repeatable course.
