BLMC 280 Linguistics and English Grammar

Linguistics is the scientific study of language and its structure. It involves the analysis of language form, function, meaning, and context as it is used in society and gives insight into aspects of human knowledge and behaviors. Taught in English, this course will introduce the fundamental linguistic principles of language including, but not limited to, phonology, phonemics, morphology, semantics, syntax, discourse, and pragmatics. Grammar and structure will be emphasized.
