CHEM 480 Internship in Chemistry

This course is aimed at students intending to enter the work force upon graduation. Students involved in experiential education engage in structured, practice-related activities where knowledge gained from education is coupled with professional experience and skills training appropriate to the development of an entry-level bench or operations chemist. CHEM 480 provides students with experiences in any number of relevant professional settings. Students will be expected to observe and participate in the analysis, processing, and other related aspects of the facility. Regular meetings (e.g., weekly) should be held between supervising faculty and students as well as between supervising faculty and the company or agency that the student is interning with. This course will be graded S/U and may be repeated with a maximum of 6 semester hours applying toward a degree.
