PHIL 303 Knowledge and Understanding
This course explores the general question of what can or cannot be known. A distinction is made between knowledge claims, beliefs, and opinion, and the standard philosophical definition of knowledge as "justified true belief" is also presented and explored. Topics examined may also include classical and contemporary ideas and theories of knowledge, truth, belief, and evidence, how faith figures into the study of knowledge and understanding, and detailed consideration of these topics as exemplified in real-world problems.
