SPED 335 Families of Children with Special Needs

This course will provide pre-service teachers with the theoretical, philosophical, and research bases to work with families of children with special needs. The role of community agencies and the schools in their collaborative effort to provide services supporting children with special needs and their families will be discussed along with legal mandates. Skills in family assessment, interviewing techniques, communication, and proactive support strategies will be developed.
