ASLA 439 Animal Positive Reinforcement Training

This course will cover how animal training is essential for improving captive animal welfare in zoos and rescues. In this course, students will learn from an experienced positive reinforcement animal trainer about the fundamentals of positive reinforcement target training. Students will learn many principles from how to train a new healthcare behavior to how to prevent and reduce aggressive and stereotypic behaviors. This course is beneficial for students wishing to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, animal behavior, animal training, or zoology. The course is repeatable with a maximum of 9 total credits provided the topics are unique.
