BIOL 348L Herpetology Lab

Herpetology lab will explore various biological areas surrounding the study of amphibians and reptiles. Students will gain an understanding of the diversity and distribution of these terrestrial ectotherms by observing the morphological, physiological, and ecological differences. Furthermore, students will gain an understanding of how these organisms interact with the environment and how evolutionary and ecological properties allow them to persist in their specific niches. Students will gain an understanding of these concepts through paper discussions, laboratory observations (including dissection and identification), as well as observing the organisms in the field on various trips.
