FORS 300 Physical Methods in Forensic Investigation

Knowledge of the capabilities, procedures, and appropriateness of physical methods, microscopy, and evidence analysis in forensic investigation is essential to professional and academic success. Discussions cover various types of analyses, the use of best practices and quality assurance measures for forensic specialists across sub-disciplines. Training exercises incorporate the use of relevant laboratory equipment, techniques, (e.g., compound light microscopes, electrostatic dust chargers, photography, DNA extraction, alternative light sources), and procedures in evidence processing.
