FORS 390 Forensic Anthropology

This course offering is a survey of forensic anthropology. It is intended to apply forensic anthropology methods and explore the role of forensic anthropology in the legal system of the United States. Using forensic anthropology as a platform, this course develops skills in critically analyzing forensic research, testimony, and methods. The bases for forensic research approaches will be discussed as well as the role and impact of the Daubert Decision. Practical portions of the course will provide students the opportunity to practice forensic osteological methods.
