MTMH 420 Immunohematology: Lab

The immunohematology lab rotation provides instruction and experience with techniques and methods used for the blood group typing, antibody screening and identification, and compatibility testing, and transfusion. Advanced procedures in DAT testing, elution, and absorptions. Pre-and post-natal testing of newborns and mothers including Rho(D) immune globulin work-ups. Students learn appropriate recognition and follow up of transfusions reactions. All techniques performed include result interpretation, problem solving, and troubleshooting as it relates to patient test results.
