MTMH 421 Chemistry: Didactic

This course is a study of the analytical procedures used in chemistry, normal and abnormal physiology, test interpretation, and statistical quality control. Coursework during the didactic rotation includes lectures each on the following topics: specimen collection and handling, analytical techniques, carbohydrates, nonprotein nitrogen, proteins, enzymes, liver function, blood gases, acid/base balance, anion and cations, lipids, body fluid analysis, hormones, tumor markers, therapeutic drug monitoring, toxicology, quality control, and quality assurance.

Enrolled as a medical laboratory science major, senior status, meet all degree requirements other than those courses that are a portion of the professional-year program
