EDSP 662 Career Counseling in P12 Schools
This course introduces students to current trends and practices in P12 career counseling. Classic as well as contemporary career development theories and approaches will be examined with emphasis placed on the application of concepts in the P12 school setting. Topics include career development theories, the role of personality theory in vocational choice and promoting self-awareness in students, career education curriculum, career interest surveys and inventories, career interest resources, Ohio Means Jobs, and philosophy of life and work. This course will assist school counselors in crafting a professional strategy and approach to becoming effective resources for students and parents in the career development process.
