Verification
The Department of Education will select some FAFSA applicants for an additional review called verification. The Office of Financial Aid is required to request and review documentation to complete this process. Typically, all students selected for verification will submit a verification worksheet to determine household size and number in college. Income and asset information is sometimes reviewed; therefore, tax information (e.g, a signed 1040 or tax return transcripts) for the required tax year will be requested in these cases. Students selected for this review will receive a notification and have action items assigned in their Workday portal. Students can upload verification documents directly in their portal.
