EDUC 250 Video Games & Learning

This research-intensive course engages students in thinking deeply about games and interactive media and strengthens students’ critical thinking about research and media reports on games. Course topics include examining learning principles embedded into games; exploring models of situated, participatory, and interest-driven learning; and investigating games in a variety of content areas, including STEM, history, and literacy. Students will engage with current topics in the games and learning community by critically analyzing sources and composing arguments backed with evidence through a variety of reading, writing, and research assignments, including a culminating research paper.
