A survey of infectious diseases for which serologic testing is of diagnostic importance is also covered. Upon completion of the lectures, exams, and laboratory exercises, the student will be able to apply the knowledge of the immune system, its components, function, dysfunction and evaluation, summarize various serodiagnostic tests, including the theory and clinical importance of their results and discover the correlation between serologic, hematologic, urinalysis, chemistry, and microbiologic results.
