NMED 416L Molecular Imaging Physics Lab
This course will use a lab-based approach to clarify and enhance lecture topics. Lab experiences will enhance student competence in the areas of patient care, radiation safety, instrumentation and quality control, radiopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals, diagnostic procedures, and radionuclide therapy. Various technologies and simulations will be used to enhance future clinical coursework and practice. Topics explored include the decay modes and half-lives of diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, the physics of primary radiation and secondary scatter, and the theoretical production and utilization of radionuclides.
