NMED 435 Molecular Imaging Radiation Protection

Topics include licensing requirements, guidelines and regulations for radiation protection, governing agencies, radiation signs, record keeping, personnel and area monitoring, radionuclide receipt, storage and disposal, and management of clinical radiation spills and accidents. Concepts are reinforced through integrated learning activities that support student competence in radiation safety practices, patient care, diagnostic procedures, and radionuclide therapy, including application of regulatory requirements, monitoring procedures, and safe handling of radioactive materials in clinical settings.
