PHAR 427 Veterinary Pharmacy

This elective course acquaints the student with the basic considerations important for providing pharmaceutical care for nonhuman patients in the community pharmacy setting. Students will learn basic anatomy and physiology considerations that affect how drugs work in a variety of species. They will also learn to apply their knowledge of drugs and disease states while using veterinary drug information resources to address common questions that occur with veterinary prescriptions. Completion of all the required courses of the first professional year is required prior to taking this class.
