OCTH 509 Research Methods

This course serves as a foundational introduction to research methods and the research process in the health professions. Fundamental components of quantitative and qualitative research including questions/hypotheses, study variables, sampling procedures and project design are explored. Basic descriptive, correlational and inferential statistics for quantitative analysis data are introduced, along with methods for qualitative data analysis. Students also identify threats to research validity and trustworthiness and discuss the significance of statistical findings and thematic analysis from research studies related to occupational therapy practice.
