Catering
The University of Findlay is contracted with Sodexo to provide all food and dining services on campus. This includes the catering for all on-campus events. Offices, departments, student groups, organizations, visitors, and all others hosting an event on campus that will have food are required to communicate with the Catering Office located in Room 45 of The Alumni Memorial Union (AMU), or via email at ufcatering@findlay.edu. Additional information on the catering options can be found on the Catering webpage.
Concession sales at intercollegiate athletic competitions run by the Athletics Department are exempt from this policy, as are events held in the Carothers’s Home.
Student organizations or groups are permitted to hold a bake sale or candy sale as a fundraiser. These items do not have to be provided by Sodexo. Interested groups should refer to the Fundraising Policy for additional information and guidelines.
Additionally, campus events held potluck style are exempt from this policy as well, provided the event meets all criteria listed below. Bona Fide potlucks are defined as an invitation-only event at which participants each personally bring components of the meal. This exception does not allow outside caterer(s) to provide or deliver food. Potluck style events must be noted as such on the Event Registration Form submitted to the Facilities Scheduling and Events Office. The Event Registration Form must also include the specifics regarding what food types will be provided, as well as who will be responsible for the preparation of the food. The Event Registration Form should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event to allow for approval by Sodexo and Student Affairs. Once the event is approved, organizers will be asked to communicate with the Catering Office as well for additional support.
Offices, departments, student groups, organizations, visitors or others who do not abide by this policy may have their event canceled or prematurely ended by the university; and may also lose the ability to reserve spaces or host future events on campus. Other penalties may apply as well, at the discretion of the Office of Student Affairs.
