Grant Funding Policy
Policy Regarding Grant Funding from Non-University of Findlay Sponsors
The University of Findlay enacts numerous policies and procedures related to the application for and receipt of funding from non-University of Findlay sponsors (i.e., external funding sponsors). These policies and procedures are to be adhered to by all faculty, staff, and students in an effort to put forth the best applications representing the quality of the institution and to adhere to all compliance requirements that may affect future funding and the institution’s standing with government agencies, professional associations, foundations, and corporate entities.
In accordance with these policies and procedures, all students and student organizations, clubs, etc. must work through the university’s Office of Sponsored Programs and Professional Services to seek and manage external funding. Students and student organizations, clubs, etc. may not submit applications on behalf of the university without having appropriate full-time faculty or staff members serve as the lead/project director nor receiving appropriate authorization signatures. All awards to students and/or student organizations, clubs, etc. must be accepted by the Vice President for Business Affairs prior to the commencement of the awarded project or program. Monies awarded by the external funding sponsor must be disbursed in the name of ‘The University of Findlay’. Monies from an external funding sponsor must be deposited into a university account established by the Office of Sponsored Programs and Professional Services. Finally, all projects and programs externally funded must comply with all other university and external funding sponsor policies, procedures, and terms of award.
Students and student organizations, clubs, etc. are required to communicate with the Office of Sponsored Programs and Professional Services prior to beginning any work on a potential funding proposal. The Office of Sponsored Programs and Professional Services will collaborate with the individual and/or group to ensure that all policies and procedures are followed in relation to the submission of a proposal and/or the management of an award.
